In this graphic novel retelling of Genesis, God is a woman and she is lonely. So she creates humans. I deeply enjoyed the art, the new take on stories I am very familiar with, and the ways the author expanded the traditional view of God.

Theology is not the purpose of the book so I didn’t find it offensive, as a Christian, though I’m sure some more may. I think this is for a very specific audience, one familiar enough with the Bible/Torah but also open enough to see the book for what it is.

If you like books that explore religious ideas in new ways like "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" or "The Red Tent", you should pick this one up!
